My mission statement for school libraries (and school librarians):
To foster a comfortable and collaborative environment that encourages a love of reading, facilitates both student and faculty learning, and promotes 21st century information literacy and technology skills through the use of effective instruction and the selection of appropriate materials and resources.

I think yours has the simplest wording, but that makes me think it's even more designed for students--"comfortable," "love of reading," exactly what a student would look appreciate.
ReplyDeleteYour mission statement is excellent! I think you cover all the ground that needs to be covered in a mission statement but it doesn't sound too wordy. That's what I was going for but yours is much more succinct than mine. Good job!
